A photo of my mom the day I moved away from home after finishing vet school

I love this photo I took of my mom the day I moved away from home after finishing vet school. In her expression I think you'll see what I see, a combination of sadness and pride. It's also sentimental for me because if you look closely you'll see a reflection of me in the photo over her right eye. It is with profound gratitude that I dedicate my life's work in her honor.

After living and working all over the US, someone once asked me where it is that I call home. For a while I had a hard time answering that question, but now I know home was wherever Abby was.
